Magdalena Boulet is an ultra runner living in Oakland, CA.   She is originally from Poland and came to the US for college, where she ran on scholarship at UC Berkeley.  After college, Boulet focused on the marathon and placed second at the 2008 US Olympic Team Trials, earning a spot on the US Olympic Marathon team.  After failing to qualify for the 2012 Olympic team in the marathon, Boulet decided to try ultra-running.  She has since won high profile ultra races such as the North Face 50-Miler and the Western States 100-Mile Endurance run.
